Its topography shows the effects of CONTINENT-sized stresses. The forces of mountain thrusting, glaciation, and erosion are everywhere. Read about the geology of the Gog Group, Miette Thrust Fault, Sunwapta Pass, Maligne Canyon, Yellowhead Lake, Athabasca Glacier, Punchbowl Falls, Cliffside Cave, and Mt. Robson among others. Illustrated by both b/w and colour photographs. Also things like isostasy, trellis drainage, and anticlines are illus. by b/w drawings. Folded colour geological map in pocket at back. Cond : Paper wrapper is grey with a photo of the icy peak of Mt. Athabasca on the cover. SPINE, corners and edges all sharp. Very minor soiling and wear. No names, marks, tears, folds, nor stains.
