Synopsis
The Talk-About-Books series is designed to enhance a baby or toddler’s first collection of books. MY PET explores the fun and responsibilities of having a pet. Pets are loving and playful and just fun to be with. but having a pet also means taking good care of it: food and water, lots of exercise, and a clean place to sleep. And don’t forget a trip to the vet to keep your pet healthy! Each book is illustrated with realistic and comforting photographs. Children from various familial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds experience friends in their many wonderful forms. About the Author
Debbie Bailey has a B.A. in Early Childhood Education, a B.Ed., and an M.A. in Applied Psychology. Her interest in board books developed when she began reading to her daughter. Debbie teaches kindergarten.
Sue Huszar has worked as a professional photographer for over 20 years. She started out as a photojournalist but went on to establish her own studio.
Review
As the series title indicates, the supplied text is only the conversation starter. What the parent/adult and child do with the contents of the photographs after the first "reading" is up to them, but the photos' contents do provide ample opportunity for "taking-about."
