Synopsis
The Talk-About-Books series is designed to enhance a baby or toddler’s first collection of books. My Friends explores the fun of playmates and siblings. Each book is illustrated with realistic and comforting photographs. Children from various familial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds experience friends in their many wonderful forms. The simple text and engaging photos invite and encourage discussion between adult and child as they have fun exploring the images together.

About the Author
Debbie Bailey has a B.A. in Early Childhood Education, a B.Ed., and an M.A. in Applied Psychology. Her interest in board books developed when she began reading to her daughter. Debbie teaches kindergarten.
Sue Huszar has worked as a professional photographer for over 20 years. She started out as a photojournalist but went on to establish her own studio.
Review
Playmates are an important part of a child's life. My Friends, part of the "Talk-About-Books" series, explores the fun and responsibilities of these precious relationships. In this sturdy board book, there are many different kinds of friends, revealed in colorful photos. There are friends that are younger, some that are older, friends that are our pets, and friends that are our brothers and sisters... Children from various cultures and ethnic backgrounds are featured playing on the swings, hugging their cat, playing trucks and learning the alphabet. These pictures are ones with which kids can easily identify. The simple text is easy to understand and, at some later point, easy to read.... It is a book that older preschoolers could "read" by telling what they see in the picture. My Friends is also available in Spanish as Mi Amigos. Highly Recommended.
