About the Author

Douglas Leighton was born and raised in the Canadian Rockies. From early childhood, his world has been shaped and informed by a daily association with his alpine surroundings. It is no wonder then, that his photographs reflect his deep commitment to the Canadian Rockies. Doug's photographs have appeared in many magazines and books, including those published by the National Geographic Society, Audubon Books and Time Life Books.
