About the Author
Lois Simmie is the author of several children's books, adult fiction, a historical true crime story, radio plays and a children's play for live theatre. She lives in Saskatoon.
Cynthia Nugent is an award-winning artist, a teacher of art and a writer. She was the illustrator of the bestselling first book Mister Got To Go as well as Goodness Gracious, Gulliver Mulligan, and has had over 20 solo exhibitions of her artwork. Cynthia has a B.A. in English literature with graduate studies in Comparative literature. She lives in Vancouver.

Kindergarten-Grade 3-In this sequel to Mister Got To Go (Red Deer, 1998), the stray cat has been living happily in Vancouver's Sylvia Hotel for seven years. His peaceful routine of sleeping on the windowsill and riding the service elevators is disrupted when a yappy little terrier moves in. The two animals struggle to claim their territory: "wherever Got To Go went, Arnie ran circles around him, barking hysterically. Got To Go, who was much bigger than Arnie, just ignored him, making him bark louder and run in faster and faster circles." The accident-prone pooch also wreaks havoc, getting underfoot of the guests and constantly barking. In desperation, the manager calls his friend Madame LaTour, who arrives from France with a well-manicured female terrier. All ends well as the two dogs fall in love and Arnie is adopted. Nugent's colorful watercolors realistically capture cat demeanor, from the regal pose on top of comfortable bags of laundry to the glowering stare while sulking in the dark recesses of the furnace room. Several images of the small dog border the pages, cleverly depicting his frenetic energy. A humorous animal story.
