They assembled this large-format softcover book from recipes submitted by the readers, editors, and writers who contribute to Harrowsmith magazine. Published in 1988, this book is still a treasure-trove of flavorful food that is simple to prepare, yet a bit different. It offers soups, stews, and casseroles which come from, or are inspired by dishes from all over the world. In Harrowsmith style, this is no-nonsense food including meat and poultry dishes that balance good sense, efficiency and pleasure. Fresh Tuna-Tomato Stew, Curried Chicken with Cashews, and Cheesey Caraway Beer Bread illustrate the scope of the food, which is mostly suited to everyday meals and casual entertaining.
