When I arrived back in Hawaii my family was very happy to see me. I stared at my son and my mind flashed back to my vision. I have a photo of our son at the age of five with his curly hair, bow tie, and holding a hot dog in his hand just as I had described in my vision. I used to take my son and daughter with me to Ayala's on Sunday when they were very young. They enjoyed dancing. I would leave within an hour with them.
I always did love dancing and really enjoyed Puerto Rican music for relaxation and peace of mind. I was dancing to Puerto Rican music before I met my children' s mother, jumping on my motorcycle to make all the dances.
I used to dance at places like Kalihi-Uka, Mercado Hall, Casa Camino, and Ayala's. I had a great deal of respect for Mr. Joe Ayala, and enjoyed talking to him. He was very intelligent and had a great deal of wisdom. I remember when he asked me to be at the entrance of his door when he started a cover charge. I asked Joe, "Why me?" He said, "You know how to talk to people." I enjoyed meeting different people and making new friends.
Long before meeting my New Zealander, I met a girl at Ayala's. She was Puerto Rican and we dated for a short period of time. After I met the woman who would become my children' s mother, I refused to go back to Ayala's, feeling that it wasn't right for me to still see the girl after I was married. One day I saw the Puerto Rican girl's cousin. He was intoxicated and said that I made his cousin pregnant. I did not pay much attention to him, but it stayed on my mind for years.
