Synopsis
Young Lulu has the best Mama and Papa in the world and the best pet ladybug, Lili-Poo. After her Mama tells her a story and her Papa sings a goodnight song, Lulu drifts gently off to sleep in her favorite soft-as-a-butterfly-kiss pajamas. In the morning she decides "never ever" to take them off again! What will she do when her friends laugh and her beloved pajamas show the scars of a busy day at school? Suddenly Lulu can hardly recognize her pajamas, and they sure don't smell like a pink dream anymore. About the Author
Stéphane Jorisch's work has won many awards, including three Governor General's Awards for Illustration. He lives in Montreal, Quebec.

Lulu, a sprightly little mouse, is particularly fond of her red pajamas: “They smell as good as a pink dream. They are as soft as a butterfly kiss.” So she decides to never take them off, and that means wearing her pajamas to school. The other kids laugh, but that isn’t the worst part of Lulu’s private pajama party. Food gets on her jammies, and so do paint and dirt. By the end of the day, Lulu decides never to wear her pj’s again. But what to do when her parents won’t tell her a bedtime story while she is wearing a ballerina outfit? This small story is charming in every way, from Lulu’s first-person, childlike narrative to the simple yet elegant ink-and-watercolor drawings of the mouse family. Even the rather inexplicable presence of Lulu’s pet ladybug is adorable.
