Reviews

This book begins by considering the needs that adult religious education can fulfill. It defines the ways of fostering adult learning through four metaphors for such education: schooling, pilgrimage, household of faith, and new earth. Methods for creating a learning community and the role of the teacher are explained. The final section concerns ways to strengthen religious education experiences through new visions, new programs, and new teaching/learning strategies focusing on faithful living. The importance of connectedness with and empowerment of those beyond one's own faith community who share justice-making and peace-creating goals is discussed. Recommended for large public libraries.
