About the Author

Ann Marlow Riedling is a graduate of Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in education; a graduate of the University of Georgia with a master's degree in library science and educational technology; and a graduate of the University of Louisville with a doctorate in educational administration and information technology.

She has worked in library science and educational technology since 1974, and she is currently serving as associate professor and departmental chair of the School of Library and Information Science at Spalding University, Louisville, Kentucky.

Chapters lead researchers step-by-step through the information maze to find what they are looking for. Numerous URLs and exercises are included, as is material on copyright, plagiarism, and basic citation styles. Though written in a sequential manner, each chapter can stand alone to address a particular aspect of information literacy. The section on evaluating Web sites is particularly valuable. As an added bonus, all mentioned sites are updated and hyperlinked at the publisher's Web site. This is a practical guide for all librarians, but particularly for those teaching research skills.
