I admit to not being a fan of Prince Valiant, an adventure strip featuring the heroics of an 18-year-old knight, when I was a kid reading the Sunday comics. But then I met somebody who had collected the original Hal Foster strips. They were huge compared to the strips I knew and were elaborately detailed. In the Days of King Arthur is a book of 30 postcards featuring enlarged excerpts of Hal Foster's amazing art. The color reproduction is incredible, and it is almost impossible not to be utterly impressed by the detail in the line art. As a bonus for those interested in the history of the strip, original publication dates are included on the back of each card.
