Yes, these recipes are indeed fast, but delicious is another matter. The author of "The 15-Minute Chef" column for the Bergen Record, Mack presents quick-and-easy recipes for main courses only, with menu suggestions for each one that rely in most cases on store-bought or bakery desserts and side dishes from the deli counter (Sardine Raclette with spinach salad, pretzels, and sliced apples is not one of her better inspirations). And although the recipes mostly do not use convenience foods, the purchased accompaniments can get expensive. Still, most of the recipes are fine for family meals, and busy cooks with little time to plan could certainly find some dinners here?perhaps served with their own accompaniments.
