Book by Aves, Melanie

The Aveses have assembled over 100 interior designers' work to illustrate the importance of color in residential interiors. Photographs depict different designers' interpretations of primary, secondary, pastel, analogous, and complementary color schemes. Included are a section of color swatches that demonstrate the changes colors undergo when black, white, or a complementary color is added and a directory of the interior designers whose rooms are presented. Though Annie Sloan's Color in Decoration ( LJ 9/1/91) provides a more comprehensive treatment of color, large collections and libraries that specialize in interior design will find this book an inspiring addition.
