Gr 3-5-Geographical tours that take readers on hot-air balloon trips, with six stops at noteworthy sites. Both books include material on food and growing up, and have full-color photographs and a few maps. France also has a page on the Eiffel Tower and the Impressionists, and Iran on Persian carpets. While the books are attractive, not all of the foreign terms are correctly spelled and defined, and the maps are incomplete. For a more thorough overview of France, try Thomas Streissguth's France (Carolrhoda, 1997). Finding other single sources on Iran for this age group will be more difficult.-Ann W.
