Although divided into six brief chapters and subdivided into paragraphs with topical headings, this well-organized investigation is replete with anecdotes and quotes from books by such well-known sociologists, journalists, and psychologists as Melford E. Spiro, David Shipler, and Bruno Bettelheim. Black-and-white photographs illustrate the text.
