About the Author

Barry Thomas, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, studied art at the University of Arkansas, where he also played football. In his third year of college, Barry gave up his dream of playing professional football to pursue his real love--art. "Painting is my obsession," he willingly admits. At the suggestion of a valued professor, Barry transferred to Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he earned a fine art degree.

Many people believe Barry made the right choice. His oil paintings are featured in art magazines and exhibited in galleries throughout the United States, including his own gallery, the Thomas Gallery, in Little Rock. His many collectors include President and Mrs. Clinton.

Barry's art is full of vitality, and his paintings glisten with color and light. He paints a variety of diverse subjects, and he often poses his wife, Piper, and their three children in his paintings.

To further add to his art education, Barry takes workshops and studies other artists, such as Joaquin Sorolla, Ilya Repin, and Kames Reynolds.
