Separation from God is the overriding challenge, and Williamson approaches this with a careful deconstruction of the human need to dominate, to be powerful, to be in control. Separation is the opposite of having loving connections with each other and peace within ourselves. She reminds us that painful experiences--in relationships, at work, in life--are not always an indication of our weakness or poor judgment. They are lessons God gives us for our growth.
