Synopsis
In 1930s Idaho, as the sun bakes what's left of the harvest and the bank stands ready to foreclose, the help of good neighbors is the difference between surviving or moving on. Nell and Aggie are on the edge of losing their years of devotion to their farm, and when townsfolk learn the true nature of their relationship, any hope of credit to the next harvest dries up.

Set in Idaho in the Great Depression, this thrilling lesbian novel depicts the lives of two lovers, Nell and Aggie, who struggle from one day to the next to keep their farm. Matters are complicated when the prejudiced townspeople learn who they are and refuse to extend credit to them in between harvests. An uneasy alliance is drawn between the women and a married couple who are fugitives from the law, and no one--not even the town's grim patriarchs--suspects what is about to happen.
