About the Author

Mel Silberman is president of Active Training. He is also a professor emeritus of adult and organizational development at Temple University where he specializes in instructional design and team building. He is the author of 101 Ways to Make Training Active (Pfeiffer 2005), Training the Active Training Way (Pfeiffer 2006), The 60 Minute Active Training Series (Pfeiffer 2005). Mel has consulted for hundreds of corporate, governmental, educational, and human service organizations worldwide. Among his recent clients have been: Merck, Merrill Lynch, BMW of North America, Bristol Myers-Squibb, Comcast, Columbia University, Virtua Health, Vanguard Financial, Conneciv, The World Bank, Linens N Things, Stockholm School of Economics, Franklin Covey, NY State Department of Health, US Senate Office of Education and Training, Valero Refining, New York University, MGM Grand, Wyeth BioPharma, Consolidated Edison. He is also a popular speaker at professional conferences.

Patricia Philips is president of Philips consulting, Inc, and a management development company that provides management assessment, coaching, meeting facilitation, and customized programs.
