Grade 8-10-- This book provides an excellent overview of issues involving the quality of air, water, and soil. Background information in each area is given, as are easily performed projects and experiments that allow concepts to be visualized. Line drawings help to clarify descriptions in the text. The writing style is accessible, and admonitions to ``ask an adult'' are included whenever assistance is warranted.
