Grade 5-7?Two series entries that exhibit sound research and lively writing. Coverage includes the physical features and daily lives of the animals, an explanation of how they became endangered, and a rundown of the steps taken in the past and present to insure their survival. The excellent-quality full-color photographs are an asset as well. More complete than either Jane Duden's fine The Ferret (Crestwood, 1990) or Sarah Palmer's accessible Manatees (Rourke, 1989), these titles will prove useful to older students.
