About the Author

Dr. Noor is Ferman W. Perry Professor of Aerospace Structures and Applied Mechanics, and the Director of the University of Virginia's Center for Advanced Computational Technology at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. He has edited 25 books and authored over 350 papers in the fields of structural mechanics, computational mechanics, new computing systems, and aerospace structures. Currently, he is the chairman of the AIAA structures technical committee, the editor-in-chief of Advances in Engineering Software, the associate editor of Applied Mechanics Reviews, and serves on the editorial boards of several international journals.
