Reviews

PreSchool-Grade 1-A gentle story, with charming pictures of the animals of Sandy Edge, introduced through an engaging endpaper map. Young Daisy Rabbit sometimes spends the night at her friends' houses. She has a good time, but also sorely misses her bed and family. Her mother then suggests a compromise. Why not have all of her pals sleep outside in her tree house in their back yard? The soft, earth-toned watercolors show cozy, full-page scenes of the animals enjoying various activities. While the tree-house solution might work in "animal land," the comparable solution in real life might not be as practical. But the book can be used to explore feelings of homesickness and as a springboard for discussion.?Janet M. Bair, Trumbull Library, CT
