This book will benefit primarily the well-to-do. Its theme is aggressive tax avoidance, usually through the creative use of trusts. Parts of the book seem repetitive, and yet other parts covering advanced techniques do not give readers enough explanation to make a decision. The examples that show returns from insurance trusts seem highly questionable and overly optimistic. In addition, the book's professionalism is occasionally marred by jarring opinions. Fortunately, financial adviser Rosenberg repeatedly urges the reader to seek professional advice. Though this book fills a special need in cautioning those with large estates who have not yet planned, a number of books available (e.g., Jane B. Quinn's Making the Most of Your Money , S. & S., 1991) should be more useful to the average library patron. Not essential, but libraries with many patrons investigating trusts might want it.
