Grade 6 Up--Cars is comprehensive in its scope, discussing advances in the auto industry from 1770 to the present. Technical and engineering aspects are emphasized, but not to the com plete neglect of well-known cars. The book also includes information on power boosters, elec trical systems, and more. Uniforms has a somewhat deceiving title, as it also includes sections on masks, epaulets, insignia, and more. Land, air, and naval uniforms of yester day and today from many different countries are featured, with a slight bias toward British armed forces. Labels are in the language of the country represented, with English translations. Both volumes feature excellent-quality, full- color photographs and clearly written texts.
