Interviews with 20 former employees and with two women he was married to recall the life and business of Harrah from the 1940s to 1980 when his chain of casinos and hotels was bought by Holiday Inns. Although he had trouble with alcohol and a fondness for women, Harrah is portrayed in the interviews as honest and a perfectionist. The chroniclers also describe his real passion, which was his collection of antique cars. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
