The trails are lovely, but Brown makes them accessible as well with directions, terrain factors, and the hours your average couch potato will need to walk it. She details each turn and tree stump of interest, where the wild flowers bloom, and the best knoll to climb for a supreme ocean view. She takes the anxiety out of hiking, so there's nothing left for you but to pack a water bottle and go.
