"Weather provides solid information about a content area common in grades four through eight, with text that students can read and understand. These books have many elements that support improved comprehension. The text is organized, well presented, and understandable. The pictures and graphics support the written material, and each book has an excellent glossary. The highlight of each book is the end activity that can be done with simple materials in the classroom or at home. The activities can be used for a beginning fair project or demonstration. This series would be a great resource for teachers who need more background or who want to challenge their gifted students. Teachers might wish to make some of the excellent diagrams into overheads to help students learn the content. Perhaps the most valuable aspect of the series is the short length; students would not tire of reading the material and might even look for more information in the same format."
