Synopsis
This is the story of how, in order not to stay in Paris and be bombarded, my family sent me to a convent boarding school in St. Omer in the north of France in September, 1939. In May, 1940, when the German panzers invaded, I was right in the middle of everything. My name is Higuette Vitu Peck. This first part covers the area of time between July 1939 and January 1941. I am working on part II.
