This is the only English book outside of China that addresses the Meng, an Eastern method of divination, or, by some definitions, a way of life related to Feng Shui and the I-Ching. Similar to Western astrology, the Meng focuses on cycles of cosmic flow that affect one's life depending on the time of birth. Understanding these cycles allows us to take advantage of positive influences and minimize the negative. While the effectiveness of the Meng is limited to the middle latitudes of the northern hemisphere, many people can employ this ancient philosophy in their personal lives. Practicing astrologers and similar advisors with the proper frame of mind who are in the northern hemisphere will be most likely to realize the potential of this book, and will want to take advantage of the ideas by incorporating them into practice.

About the Author

Lily Chung was born and raised in Hong Kong.  She has a B.A. degree from Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.  She taught college in the United States (Wisconsin and Pennsylvania) from 1969 to 1971, in Hong Kong from 1972 to 1974, and recently retired from teaching Chinese metaphysics at City College of San Francisco.  Lily hosts a talk show on Chinese Astrology for Sinocast, a Chinese radio scation.  She is a consultant and tutor in Chinese metaphysics, and occasionally gives personal Meng readings.  Her published articles include a regular column in Asian Week since 1992, which provides lunar year predictions for the twelve cosmic animals.
