9781567185195: Secrets of Sacred Space

Synopsis

Famous ancient stone monuments such as Stonehenge attract us because they surround sacred spaces filled with spiritual power.

In Secrets of Sacred Space, Chuck Pettis reveals you can create similar sacred spaces of your own. You'll learn how to use the architecture of power to create earth and stone monuments that can help you find inner peace and renewal.

Secrets of Sacred Space reveals how you can:

·Use geomancy, symbolism, numerology, and astronomical alignments to understand the ancient sacred sites and even design your own power places
·Easily perform dowsing with rods and pendulums to find water, ley lines, and earth energy lines to choose sacred sites and create your own sacred monuments
·Communicate with devas and other spiritual beings to discover a site's spiritual essence
·Design your sacred space in harmony with a site's spiritual essence
·Understand the powerful design cosmology of the Egyptian pyramids and other ancient monuments

Sacred places of power move and enliven the soul. They take us to higher states of consciousness, inspire feelings of awe and wonder, and are places for retreat, self-renewal, and enlightenment. The making of the sacred space is as important, if not more important, than its use when complete. Building a sacred space ― a cosmic monument ― is a high form of meditation and the epitome of spiritual service. Discover the secrets of the earth and its special places when you read Secrets of Sacred Space.

About the Author

Chuck Pettis (Washington) is an author, speaker, teacher and sacred space artist, who has designed and built sacred places of power since 1970. He created and built the first modern energetically and astronomically-aligned stone circle in the US, the Ellis Hollow Stone Circle and is the founder and President of the Geo Group, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to the study and design of sacred space.

When Chuck dowsed the Seattle Ley-Line Map, which was featured on the “Sightings” television show, he made Seattle the first city in the modern world to have its ley lines and power centers mapped. Chuck has given numerous lectures and seminars on the subject of sacred space, including presentations at the American Society of Dowsers national conference. He is the author of the book Cosmic Geometry: Tantric Transformations and has authored or contributed to articles on sacred space in East-West, American Society of Dowsers Journal, and NEARA Journal. Chuck  has a BA in Psychology from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a MS in Design from Southern Illinois University.

From Chapter One: Sacred places of power move and enliven the soul-they take you to higher states of consciousness, inspire feelings of awe and wonder, and are places for retreat, self-renewal, and enlightenment.

From Chapter Two: Spirituality is on its own time schedule. My mother once expressed it beautifully: "I never know if I'm coming or going, except when it's time." When it is your time, the right way will appear for you. However, you can begin living virtuously and in a spiritual manner today. You can choose not to get angry, lie, gossip, covet, steal, kill or hate. You can choose to express your love and have compassion for those who are in pain or suffering. You can give to those who are in need. You can speak pleasantly. These activities are important because when we die, the only things we take with us are the results of our virtuous and non-virtuous actions and deeds.

From the Preface: In 1975, I visited the Rollright Stone Circle near Oxford, England. As I stepped into this beautiful circle of oddly-complexioned standing stones, my consciousness was altered. Meditation in the middle of the stone circle was deep and memorable. With recently acquired college degrees in psychology and design and a fascination that such a space, obviously carefully designed, could immediately change one's state of consciousness, I felt a sense of predestination. On that day, I resolved to study the design techniques used to build ancient monuments and then design and build a stone circle myself to see if a new, contemporary sacred space could alter and uplift consciousness.
