Bob Burke has written more historical non-fiction books (100) than anyone else in history. Born in Broken Bow, he is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City University School of Law, and is a member of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame. He is the father of Robert, Amy, and Cody, stepfather of Natalie, Lauren, and Calli, and grandfather of Nathan, Jon, Ridge, Fallon, and Greyson. He and his wife Chimene live in Oklahoma City where he practices law and writes books. Harriet Burris Martin has lived in Broken Bow her entire life. She earned her bachelors and masters degrees from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in elementary education. She taught in the Broken Bow Public Schools for 18 years. She and her husband Randy, also a retired teacher, operate a poultry and cattle farm east of Broken Bow. They have two children, Ryan and Robyn, and three grandchildren, Mark, Erica, and Raylee. Kenneth Hamilton was born in Broken Bow, graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1954, and married Helen Turnage. He began his 54-year career in the newspaper business at the Broken Bow News in 1949 and spent most of the next half century working at newspapers in Mc- Curtain County. He retired in 2003 after serving as editor of a newspaper in Atoka, Oklahoma for 12 years. He is the father of Becky and Keith and the grandfather of Derek, Samantha, Jessica, Dil- lon, Darrell, and Riley. Paulette LaGasse, a lifelong resident of Broken Bow, earned her bachelors and masters degrees from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She retired after 27 years as a teacher and library media specialist in the Broken Bow school system. She currently is program curator at the Museum of the Red River in Idabel and serves on the governing boards of several educational and civic organizations. She is the mother of Kyle and Lyle Jones.
