Synopsis

Journey towards uncovering the mysterious formula of the Elixir of Life, also known as the Philosophers Stone as found in Avicenna s Volume 5 of the Canon of Medicine: Pharmacopia. Avicenna's Canon of Medicine translated into Latin was the only medical textbook used in Europe for 600 years. Many readers will be familiar with Avicenna s use of the terms: Philosophers Stone and the Elixir of Life, which were made famous through the Harry Potter series. This formula is based on the humoural theory of hot, cold, wet, and dry and is said to give eternal youth. Avicenna gives you all the ingredients, their amounts and directions for how to prepare the Elixir of Life. Each ingredient is described in detail, accompanied by beautiful color illustrations. Find out for yourself if the Elixir works.
