This work defines and illustrates the Kleinian approach to psychotherapy. Previous books on Kleinian approaches have concerned themselves almost exclusively with psychoanalysis. This book demonstrates how the Kleinian approach is also applicable to once- and twice-weekly therapy.

Anstreichungen. - Englisch. - A Primer of Kleinian Therapy clearly defines and illustrates Melanie Klein's basic concepts and shows readers how this model is admirably suited for once- or twice-per-week treatment. Rich with vivid clinical vignettes, this book covers Klein's major theoretical contributions such as the internal world, projective identification, and the paranoid and schizoid positions and demonstrates how to use them to enhance clinical work. // "This book fills an important gap in the literature. It supplies a clearly written beginner's manual showing the application of the Kleinian model to psychotherapy. There is ample clinical material and sufficient exposition to help those unfamiliar with either the content or the use of Klein's concepts to learn with a minimum of confusion. I recommend this book as a good starting point for the psychotherapist who wants to learn how a Kleinian might approach everyday problems in clinical practice." .
