About the Author:
Courtney Price, PhD, has long specialized in management consulting and has worked with health care executives, managers, administrators, and physicians to design and implement innovation strategies and systems for group practices, hospitals, and large health care providers that improve performance and create new sources of revenue. She has been an entrepreneur for the last 25 years, started numerous businesses and served on corporate boards. In addition, she has been vice president of human resources management at the Denver Department of Health and Hospitals and a professor of management. Price was the author of the original edition of The Group Practice Personnel Policies Manual, a series of MGMA HR Issues (formerly Personnel Postscript) and numerous books focused on health care innovation, business planning, bioscience entrepreneurship, HR policies and procedures, performance management and job descriptions. She specializes in the fields of innovation, technology commercialization, strategic entrepreneurship and creativity. In addition, she is a keynote speaker at global, national and regional conferences. Price consults with leading health care organizations worldwide and works with their leadership team to help them develop, implement and sustain innovation strategies and innovation management systems. She uses proprietary methodologies to help leaders assess their current culture for innovation, align it with their strategic focus, leverage new opportunities and benchmark results. Price has presented workshops, facilitated health care programs and conducted retreats in the US, Australia, Sweden and the UK. Price currently is president and CEO of VentureQuest Ltd., a management consulting and training firm that helps organizations introduce new products/services while increasing revenues by capitalizing on developing people, technologies and market opportunities.
