About the Author

Ron Jones has been camping on wheels since 1962 and has owned pick-up campers, Class C, Class B (homemade), and Class A coaches. Plus, Ron has camped in tents, tent trailers, pick-up campers, and travel trailers everything but a 5th wheel. He and Sandy (spouse) are fulltimers and meander just about anywhere in their diesel pusher across the USA and Canada.

Ron has retired (several times). He is retired Army, retired Senior Professor of Engineering Technology at the University of North Texas, and a retired publisher. Ron s hobbies are traveling, cooking, photography, writing, and eating out and enjoying a good microbrewed beer.

Ron writes (a lot). He was a columnist for Coast to Coast RV magazine, has written features articles for Motorhome, Highways, Family Motor Coaching, and Escapees magazines, was a contributor to the Good Sam Website (Weekly RV Tips), and wrote a monthly article for CyberSam (the Good Sam digital newsletter). He has written ten books including numerous textbooks for public schools and colleges, how-to books, co-authored the best-selling RV book entitled All the Stuff You Need to Know About RVing (ISBN 1-56870-514-X), was a collaborator with Sandy on Wrinkle-Free RV Laundry (ISBN 978-156870-590-3), and released his new book, RVing to Alaska (ISBN 978-0-9825682-0-0) in January 2010.
