Synopsis
Travel aboard the American and U.S.S.R. spacecrafts during their historic first meeting in space! Children join Kevin and Lucy as they are suddenly transported from the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum into outer space, becoming U.S.S.R. cosmonaut Alexei Leonov and American astronaut Thomas Stafford. Lucy and Kevin come face-to-face with each other, as the hatches between the two spacecrafts open and the two friends shake hands, successfully completing the Apollo-Soyuz Mission. About the Author
Sheri Tan received her B.A. in Communication from Mills College in Oakland, California, first working as a reporter for an Asian-American newspaper in San Francisco. In 1986, Sheri moved to New York to pursue a career in book publishing. She is now a Senior Editor. Ms. Tan has written a number of books for children, including a biography of Boston Symphony Orchestra conductor, Seiji Ozawa. She holds a black belt in Shotokan karate, and has also taught this martial arts style. Sheri grew up in Singapore and now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
