Chin, with years of both Oriental and Western medical experience, explains the basics of Oriental treatment. Oriental therapy is founded upon knowledge of the body's energy systems, including the mental and spiritual aspects. While Chin explains these concepts as practical and reasonable, it is evident that proper diagnosis by experts is essential. Lists of energy-related foods and a 30-day program of exercises derived from Tai Chi movements are given. Moderation and balance of each individual's energies are the primary goals. Easier described than accomplished! Still, this book opens a window on Oriental medicine for Western audiences.
