About the Author

Damasus Winzen was a renowned leader of the liturgical movement that preceded Vatican Council II. In 1951, he founded the Monastery of Mount Savior near Elmira, New York. He devoted himself to building that Benedictine community, giving conferences, teaching, and otherwise serving the broad interests of the Church. He wrote Pathways in Scripture in the late 1940s when he was chaplain to the Benedictine sisters of Regina Laudis Monastery in Connecticut. Fr. Damasus died in 1971.
