About the Author

Ray Riegert is the author of eight travel books, including Hidden San Francisco & Northern California. His most popular work, Hidden Hawaii, won the coveted Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Award for Best Guidebook as well a similar award from the Hawaii Visitors Bureau. In addition to his role as publisher of Ulysses Press, he has written for the Chicago Tribune, Saturday Evening Post, San Francisco Chronicle and Travel & Leisure. A member of the Society of American Travel Writers, he lives in the San Francisco Bay area with his wife, co-publisher Leslie Henriques, and their son Keith and daughter Alice.
