THE FUTURE EARL OF LINWORTH
James Kerrington, a key member of the British government’s
secret unit, the Realm, never expected to find love again after
the loss of his beloved wife. But a visit to his close friends, the
Thornhills, leads to a chance meeting with Lady Eleanor Fowler.
Instantly Kerrington’s whole world tilts on its axis.
THE DEBAUCHERY OF LORD THORNHILL
For years, Lady Eleanor hid from Society, knowing her father’s
notorious reputation for wickedness tainted her chance for
romantic fulfillment. Now with Kerrington’s advances and
her father’s recent death, she is at last hopeful that her family’s
dark past is behind her. But when Sir Louis Levering appears
with final proof of her father’s depravity, Eleanor is drawn into
a web of immorality and blackmail.
RETURN OF THE REALM
To free Eleanor from Levering’s diabolical clutches, Kerrington
brings together his former Realm comrades. Before they can
save her, they must confront their own secret pasts and tangle
with Shaheed Mir, a longtime nemesis who is exacting revenge
against members of the Realm for stealing a mysterious emerald
from his homeland.

She considers herself a Janeite - a member of the Jane Austen Society of North America and spends lots of her free time involved in such. A teacher for nearly 40 years in the public school systems of three different states, Regina Jeffers is a Time Warner Star Teacher Award winner, a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar, a Columbus Educator Award winner, and a guest panelist for the Smithsonian. She served on various national educational committees and is often sought as a media literarcy consultant.
The first fully original novel from Austen pastiche author Jeffers (The Phantom of Pemberley) is a knockout. Lady Eleanor "Ella" Fowler, sister of the duke of Thornhill, literally stumbles into the arms of James Kerrington, viscount Worthing, who—shocking them both—flirts with her rather than keeping a proper distance. As they travel to London for the season, mysterious people attack them, and Worthing must declare his courtship of Ella while attempting to discover who wants to harm them. A subplot involving Worthing and Thornhill's military exploits adds intrigue to the well-plotted romance, and masterful character development highlights Ella's intelligence and frustration with the world and social class she inhabits. Jeffers's close look at the dark secrets of Regency society instills a sense of realism marred only by the lovers' unaccountably forward behavior. (Mar.)
