Synopsis
As Nephi dealt with crushing challenges, that great Book of Mormon prophet set a worthy example for us: "For my soul delighteth in the scriptures, and my heart pondereth them, and writeth them for the learning and profit of my children" As Nephi shows, the scriptures can and do provide so much more than a doctrinal guide to the gospel. They can provide specific answers to everyday questions and decisions as well as providing a system for making sense of all our experiences, good or bad. They are a Liahona in the latterday wilderness. In this volume, thoughtful and experienced Latter-day Saints tell how the scriptures have lifted them from earthly struggles to heavenly solutions for their personal and family lives. Another insightful chapter by Lael Littke will show readers how the scriptures cured her "chickenheart" and helped her to face the trials and burdens of life.
