About the Author
Recognized nationally for his poignant writing style, humor and knowledge of the outdoors, award-winning journalist and author Michael Hodgson is constantly "seeking out the wilder side of a mountain..." in search of a good story of a ridiculously wild adventure. Frankly, his friends are amazed that he can still walk. Michael works as an editor for Outdoor Retailer magazine where he also wears the title of senior editor for Outdoor Business and Market News and the editor also serves as a senior contributing editor of Adventure West Magazine. Michael's articles have appeared in Outside, Backpacker, Men's Journal, Field and Stream, Outdoor Life, The Christian Science Monitor and others. He has published 14 books on the outdoors.
