About the Author
Don Jones is a retired United States diplomat. Mr. Jones learned to speak Japanese as a Marine Corps combat interpreter during the Second World War and later served as chief of the Language Division at the Tokyo war Crimes Trials. Mr. Jones was a correspondent for United Press International in Japan, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
