"Take your mint julep out to the veranda, then get ready for murder and moonlight--tempered with soft Southern charm." ~Meritorious Mysteries
"Bravo to his eclectic group of authors digging deep into the heart of the South. Their stories are rich in suspense, humor, and charm. " ~Sujata Massey
"These stories are strong, with voices distinct and singing of the South. From urban Louisville to the beach resort of Wilmington, NC and back in time to the battle of Vicksburg, the authors render a South rich in place; teeming with characters both quirky and complex; and punctuated with dialogues whose rhythms made me want to dance in praise." ~ Anne Underwood Grant, author of the Sydney Teague series
After living on Scull Road, Jeffrey Marks had little choice in growing up to love mysteries. Among his earliest memories is the creation of tiny books from paper tablets. Thankfully, none of those exist today, but it fueled his lifelong interest in writing. At the age of twelve, he was introduced to the works of Agatha Christie via her short story collection, The Underdog and Other Stories. He finished all her books by the age of sixteen and had begun to collect mystery first editions. After stints on the high school and college newspapers, he began to freelance. After numerous author profiles, he chose to chronicle the short life of mystery writer Craig Rice. That biography (so far published in French translation only) encouraged him to write mystery fiction. His work has won a number of awards. Today, he writes from his home in Cincinnati, which he shares with his dog.
