Unlike most dressage books, the advice in Dressage Tips and Training Solutions is presented in a highly accessible way: a question-and-answer format that identifies problems and offers solutions to training difficulties. The book covers the main elements of the horse¹s education, from early schooling on the longe through to Grand Prix movements; throughout, it stresses the need for sympathetic handling of the horse at all times. It also includes a chapter on jumping, with gymnastic grid exercises to complement work on the flat. The German training principles, including the establishment of solid basics ‹ such as looseness, submission, responsiveness to the aids, and impulsion ‹ are continually emphasized, offering insight into why and how the German system produces so many of the world¹s top horses.
