A serious art. It is a good bet that James Joyce would read Gerry Adams' short stories to learn about souls in Belfast as the world reads Dubliners. (James Clarity, of the New York Times Writing In The Irish Independent)

He writes convincingly and with compassion...The warmth of Adams' writing comes from the affection of a man for the remembered things of the past. (Times Literary Supplement)
Adams has a lively style, and the vernacular of West Belfast rings true...The book provides an insight into a side of life often only glimpsed―and provides a challenging perspective. (The Belfast Telegraph)
