If precise cutting and maintaining an accurate 1/4 seam allowance present too much of a challenge, the techniques outlined in this book may be the answer. Patches are pieced together on a single sheet of foundation paper so there is no need to sew multiple units together to assemble one block. The technique is clearly explained with step-by-step diagrams and instructions for sixty traditional 6 blocks, all with patterns available for photocopying or scanning. The quilt gallery gives some good ideas for combining blocks and borders with the use of inspiring colour combinations. NO PINS - NO KIDDING! I don't always have the patience for paper-piecing, especially when it comes to assembling the sections of a block, with all those crinkly, hard-to-pin paper edges. Anita's amazing technique uses just one foundation piece and no pinning! Patches cut from templates are lightly glued in place with a fabric glue stick, then stitched and pressed. (Unlike other paper-piecing techniques, Anita's does not use oversized patches, so there's no trimming and less fabric waste.) The amazing part comes next: fold the paper on pre-printed dotted lines and stitch. When you open up the block, all the sections will match perfectly!
