The Atlas of Allergic Diseases provides comprehensive visual coverage of all aspects of allergic diseases. Exceptional photographs, diagrams, charts and illustrations in full color help to illustrate the abstract elements of allergic diseases in vivid detail. With contributions from renowned specialists, this detailed and useful atlas combines the immunologic basis of allergy with the clinical aspects of the discipline.

Current Medicine Inc is a publisher renowned for it's lavishly illustrated color atlases. Our goal is to provide medical professionals with the most current information and the best images to aid in clinical practice, research, and education. The Atlas of Allergic Diseases is no exception. We are very proud to bring this vibrant and informative publication to the medical community. We would like to thank Drs. Lieberman and Blaiss, and our over 41 contributors, for lending their expertise to this project.
Allergy-immunology is not, as a rule, a visual specialty. With the possible exceptions of the allergy skin tests, nasal examination, and the reading of nasal eosinophil smears, allergists-immunologists work in a realm of abstract conclusions and concepts rather than palpable, visible problems, such as that which surgeons encounter. Therefore when we began this task, we were somewhat concerned that we could not accumulate enough visual material to flesh out an entire atlas. However, much to our surprise, the ideas began to flow, and we have developed a final product that, at least in our eyes, is a useful and quite striking text that visually depicts the scientific and clinical aspects of our subspecialty.
We are not aware of any text that has approached this specialty in quite the same way. In most textbooks and even other atlases, the immunology and allergy subjects are usually presented as separate entities. For this atlas, our intent was to combine the immunologic basis of our subspecialty with the clinical aspects of the discipline. We believe that the end result is an instructive volume that illustrates the abstract elements of our field quite vividly.
We would like to thank the many authors who spent hours of their time collecting photos and submitting drawings. We knew from the beginning that this would be a difficult task to accomplish, and without the diligent efforts of these contributors it would have been impossible.
