In this engagingly written and thought-provoking volume, Kenneth Shaw draws on his 20 years of experience in higher education to offer practical guidelines for effective academic leadership. He begins by sharing his personal account of how he successfully led Syracuse University through the difficult process of restructuring in the face of economic change, an accomplishment that has captured the attention of higher education institutions nationwide. Shaw also discusses key leadership issues.
